EHC R.I.P

Pre-installation notes:

  • Upon installation of the EHC R.I.P Kit, the “Run” button on the right-hand control will now function as an on/off toggle for the ignition.Please keep in mind the starter will crank even when the “run” button has been toggled to the “ignition-off”position. Please use care to make sure the correct setting is chosen before attempting to start the motorcycle.
  • Upon installation of the EHC R.I.P Kit, the “Low Beam” button on the left-hand control will now function as a toggle for the high/low beams.

  1. Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals and remove the battery. (See image #1)
  2. Disconnect the connectors from the EHC and remove the EHC. (See image #2)
  3. Remove the fuel tank and disconnect the backbone harness from the forward harnesses. (See image #3)
  4. Remove the backbone and power harness from the motorcycle. (See image #4)
  5. Install the new harness provided with the R.I.P. kit into the backbone and route the harness through the backbone tube to a length to allow the R.I.P. harness to connect with the forward harnesses. (See image #5)
  6. Zip tie the new harness to the backbone area to allow for fuel tank clearance. (See image #6)
  7. Install the new module provided with the R.I.P. kit in the same location as the EHC. Depending on model year a bracket may be needed. If the bracket is required no drilling is required. The bracket will line up with the existing EHC mounting holes. (See image #7)
  8. Route the lower section of the R.I.P harness down to the neutral, speedometer sensor, starter solenoid, rear brake and oil pressure switch. (See image #8 & #9)
  9. Zip tie the R.I.P. harness in the battery tray to allow for battery clearance.
  10. Connect the circuit breaker wire from the R.I.P. harness to the circuit breaker.
  11. Connect the ground terminal from the R.I.P. harness to chassis ground.
  12. Connect the positive battery terminal.
  13. Connect the negative battery terminal.
  14. Install the fuel tank.
