Engine. The “heart” of the drivetrain is a 111 cubic inch engine that provides the performance and sound that can only be found in a 45 degree pushrod-twin.The bore and stroke are matched at 4-1/8 inches to minimize vibration while maximizing torque and reliability.All models come with a large carburetor for ease of tuning and a break-in controller to make sure each engine will provide a lifetime of service. Transmission. The transmission is one of the most complex and critical components on any motorcycle. Therefore, we understand the importance of selecting the right drivetrain components. All motorcycles are built with a 6-speed, right-side-drive transmission for balance and high-speed performance. Our gears are straight-cut to prevent side-loading of the transmission case and handle the high torque and horsepower output from the engine. The gears are also forged in a captive foundry guaranteeing the quality control of the metallurgy. Lastly, we opted for an oil-pressurized outboard bearing support within the pulley cover to support the mainshaft during rapid acceleration and keeping all drivetrain components linear.
Chassis. Contrary to popular belief, choppers can be made to handle extremely well. The key is to engineer the frames with the proper frame geometry. Our frame geometry is calculated from years of testing and thousands of motorcycles on the road. Each motorcycle’s center-of-gravity, center-of-mass, weight distribution, rake, and trail must all be in balance. To ensure this precision frame geometry, we start with heavy-wall tubing to promote structural rigidity. Next, each frame is hand-welded using computer-controlled and manufactured components. Both prototypes employ a fully adjustable hidden-shock suspension so the motorcycle can be fine-tuned to fit each individual’s personal riding style and preferences.
